We are beginning to search for juried craftsmen, artisans, makers, and those repurposing handicrafts of years gone past. 83 flexible booth spaces will be available for leasing with 5’ x 10’ and 10’ x 10’ serving as the common available sizes. But if a vendor would like more space, two 10’ x 10’ can easily become a 10’ x 20’. In addition to booth spaces, shelving displays are also offered in two sizes: (1) 5 shelf unit, each 2’ x 6’ or 60 square feet; (2) 5 shelf unit, each 2’ x 4’ or 40 square feet. A secured area for jewelry vendors will also be included next to the customer service counter staffed by an employee.
In addition to 38 standard operating hours each week, the venue will coordinate with other events scheduled for the New York Wire Works and, if appropriate, open the doors for shoppers. Other hours will be scheduled to coordinate with neighborhood and York City events such as First Friday. Businesses and organizations will be encouraged to schedule hours for shopping for their members and families. This may especially happen prior to specific holidays. Wine & Shop events will be scheduled throughout the year. Our team is always seeking opportunities to encourage visitors to walk the hardwood floors of the York Merchant!
Why The York Merchant?
We make it easy.
At present, if you are attending two shows a month, you may spend at least $150 for booth space. Shows usually last 6 to 8 hours a day. You have to buy a canopy, load and unload for each show, and if it rains, an outside show may leave you without any show income. With our model, you simply rent a booth space month to month! Our Market is open at least 38 hours each week. We staff the facility. You are only responsible for maintaining inventory. You earn money back for each sale. We take care of the accounting and sales tax. We have an in-house marketer with a target of promoting our Market within a 100-mile radius of York. Weekly emails will be sent to our customer list and other media outlets listing hours and any special events, special promotions from a vendor or vendors, highlights of a vendor product, class schedules, and other important details.
